Often seen hunting over wetlands, farmlands or low over grass fires. Effortless wheeling flight. Mostly scavengers. Sometimes feeds on live prey. Usually alone, but will congregate at large food sources.

Found in open wooded country near swamps, paddocks with large trees, along rivers and coastal areas.
