Solitary or in pairs. Occasionally hovers. Loud, far-reaching variety of ringing, rippling, musical notes with a 'whipcrack-like' ending. Also a penetrating 'joey-joey-joey' incessantly repeated.

Found in open forests, woodlands, mallee, mulga, parks, gardens.
