Flight is undulating. Singles or in pairs or sometimes small flocks. Resonating, musical, mellow, bubbly calls. Feeding usually with other figbirds in the upper canopy. Mostly fruit, also insects.

Found in open eucalypt forests, woodlands, mallee and tall inland scrub.
