A familiar bird well adapted to urban environments. May become tame. Perches, scanning for prey, pouncing on insects, crustaceans, small mammals, reptiles or birds.

Found in areas with large eucalypts with nest hollows. Forest edges, clearings, woodlands, parks and gardens.
